FAQUELAGE

FAQUELAGE

FAQUELAGE is a trio founded in Leipzig in 2019, which translates the sound of large ensembles into a compact, almost chamber music format. The composition of an effective electric guitar, versatile fretless bass and a diverse percussion setup – from the washboard and frame drum to the powerful water drum – creates grooves, dancing rhythms and spherical sound surfaces with an international flair.

The three musicians, who met during their studies at HMT Leipzig, use the small formation for improvisation and spontaneous interaction. In addition to original compositions, the repertoire includes film music, video game soundtracks and arrangements of pop classics, with the stories and associations behind the pieces in the foreground. FAQUELAGE combines musical diversity, playful humor and worldwide rhythm to open up new approaches to jazz and instrumental music.

Line-up :
Fabian Hentschel – E-Gitarre
Raphael Seidel - E-bass
Richard Holzapfel – Percussion
