Miss Nöyd

Miss Nöyd

Miss Nöyd is a FLINTA band from Berlin, founded in 2017 from the solo project of the Norwegian singer-songwriter Bente Lorentzen. The starting point was the contrast between the remoteness of their small Norwegian fishing village and the energy of the big city of Berlin. The early songs combined catchy pop melodies with emotional lyrics that covered topics such as vulnerability, strength, and the tension between nature and urban life. During this time, Lorentzen released several singles, including “I Guess You’re My Man”, as well as the EP Leaving the Village.

In 2022, she expanded the project into a band formation. With Mathilda Adamik (Keys), Andrea Trujilo (bass), Stella Tumidei (drums) and Elena Moroder (backing vocals) a new band sound emerged that brought the pieces of Leaving the Village to the stage. In March 2024, a tour of Norway followed, which took the project back to its roots.

The band is currently working on a new album, which is scheduled to be recorded in 2025. In terms of content, it addresses issues of survival, cohesion and resistance in a world that often seems out of control. Musically, Miss Nöyd moves towards indie rock with anthemic, danceable songs. The plays address topics such as relationships, loneliness, mental health and identity search. With a mixture of directness, humor and playful energy, the band connects with an audience that seeks honesty and ease at the same time.
