TL4 – Thierry LeMaitre Quartet
TL4 – Thierry LeMaitre Quartet
TL4 – The Thierry Lemaitre Quartet is an international jazz collective around Parisian saxophonist Thierry Lemaitre, known for his work with Ephemerals, Wolfgang Valbrun (Jalapeno Records) and Biomania (Folded Music Records). After moving to Leipzig, he formed the band with Scottish pianist Gregor Forbes, Chilean bassist Diego Alejandro and German drummer Heinrich Eiszmann.
The sound of TL4 combines complex structures with accessible grooves and combines classical influences with contemporary sound colors. Musical inspiration comes from hip-hop jazz acts such as Butcher Brown, Soweto Kinch and Makaya McCraven, as well as soul-oriented producers such as Leon Michels, Holy Hive and the Menahan Street Band. The debut album Songs without words will be released in the spring of 2026 by the British label Folded Music, the first single in October 2025.
