Marina Ruiz Matta

Marina Ruiz Matta
Marina Ruiz Matta is an Argentinian pianist and composer who works with extraordinary sensitivity and improvisational freedom. Her playing combines jazz, contemporary music and elements of Latin American folklore into a very personal sound language. In her solo concerts, she unfolds intimate musical narratives in which fine melodies, complex rhythms and sonic passages flow together.
With great expressiveness, Marina creates sound spaces that oscillate between meditative silence and powerful energy. Her music thrives on spontaneous design, on the search for the moment and the deep roots in her own compositions as well as free improvisations. This creates a very immediate concert experience that touches and challenges listeners alike.
