The Gentle Lurch

The Gentle Lurch (DE)

The Gentle Lurch, originally from Chemnitz and the Erzgebirge, now mostly in Dresden, play rotten, tired Americana and polyphonic folk music between standstill and noise, complaint and comfort. They are currently working on their fourth album, the follow-up to “Workingman’s Lurch” (2014).

"Dresdens Antwort auf Wilco – ein weitläufiges, experimentelles Epos …" (Americana UK).

“Fortunately, the eleven songs from the East German province transport their pessimism in the most pleasant way possible.”

The Gentle Lurch once described their music as something on which a crow would settle. What a weird band. What a wonderful album. (taz)
