Etienne Wittich and Paulo Morello Quartet

New York-based guitarist Etienne Wittich and renowned jazz guitarist Paulo Morello invite you to an unforgettable evening full of great guitars!

Jazz history is rich in legendary guitar duos – from Joe Pass & John Pisano to John Scofield & Pat Metheny to Doug & Jimmy Raney. Wittich and Morello are also part of this tradition, who show with unique arrangements and harmonious refinement what magic two guitars can unfold.

The guitarist Etienne Wittich is one of the most exciting young voices in the German jazz scene. During his studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin, he quickly established himself with his trio and quintet as a versatile bandleader and a sought-after sideman. He is coined by teachers such as John Scofield, Paulo Morello, Kalle Kalima and Phil Donkin. The winner of the Regensburg Music Prize and the Concert Prize Youth Jazzt Bayern has been living in New York City since 2025, where he is currently completing his master’s degree with a DAAD scholarship and is studying with Pasquale Grasso.

Paulo Morello is considered one of the most interesting jazz guitarists in Europe. This is evident in his successful international projects with trumpet star Randy Brecker, bossa nova legend Leny Andrade and the Night Of Jazz Guitars with the late Larry Coryell. With them Morello guested at the most important European and South American festivals. He also worked with Jimmy Smith, Bob Mintzer, Paul Kuhn, Billy Cobham, Airto Moreira, Philip Catherine and Pat Martino. Morello teaches as a professor of jazz guitar at the Jazz Institute Berlin.
