„Jazz von packender Gestaltungskraft“
(Georg Spindler, *Mannheimer Morgen*)
“With a perfect mix of virtuosity, emotionality and innovation, the genre can be redefined without forgetting its roots.”
„Völlig zu Recht gilt Noah Diemer als einer der vielversprechenden jungen Musiker der deutschen Jazzszene.“
(Gerald Langer, *music-on-net*)
These voices mark the starting point for the further development of the pianist and composer Noah Diemer, who continues his musical handwriting with a new quartet. Together with Daniel Roncari on the saxophone, Julian Grüneberg on the bass and David Giesel on the drums, an ensemble sound is created that combines modern jazz aesthetics with lyrical clarity: colorful, dynamic and characterized by a high sensitivity in interaction.
Already in the *Mannheimer Morgen* in connection with the album *traces of dusk* the special creative power of Diemer's music was highlighted. His compositions are characterized by a pronounced dramaturgical development, emotional depth and the ability to unfold a wide variety of moods. These qualities also characterize the current program of the quartet – extended by even finer nuances, open sound spaces and intense musical dialogues.
At the heart of the quartet is Noah Diemer’s unmistakable musical signature as a pianist and composer. His music combines melodic clarity with rhythmic openness and develops multi-layered musical stories from small motifs. Characteristic is a fine sense of dramaturgy: arcs of tension arise organically, moods change fluidly and open up new sound spaces. Between lyrical intimacy and energetic bursts, the ensemble unfolds a lively, breathing sound that is both precise and open.
Diemer finds inspiration in literature and her sonic language. Texts by the Japanese author Haruki Murakami serve less as a concrete template, but rather as an atmospheric impulse: the connection between clarity, subtlety and floating openness is also found in the musical character studies of the quartet.
Sun versteht das Noah Diemer Quartett Jazz als erzählerische Kunstform: Musik, die Atmosphären erschafft, Geschichten andeutet und immer wieder neue Räume öffnet.
