In Residence – Summer at the Blue Note

Thomas Quendler Quintett

The quintet around the Austrian jazz pianist and composer Thomas Quendler presents contemporary jazz with a focus on his own compositions. Quendler, winner of the Ö1 Jazz scholarship, combines lyrical sound worlds with modern jazz language and improvisational openness in his projects. His debut album “Awaking” appeared in the series Jazzthing Next Generation.

The current formation consists of Maximilian Glanz (saxophone), Johannes Mandl (guitar), Jakob Gönitzer (bass), Thomas Quendler (piano) and Andreas Reisenhofer (drums). In the course of a new album production, which is scheduled to be released in autumn 2026, the quintet presents a program with current compositions and chamber music-influenced ensemble playing.
