Nikolai Olshansky is a double bass player and composer and a graduate of the renowned jazz campus in Basel, where he studied with the legendary double bass player and Professor Larry Grenadier. He currently lives in Germany.
His music combines strong melodicism with rhythmic vitality. Nikolai’s compositions are characterized by diverse forms and a cinematic sound world that creates a rich and imaginative musical space for the listeners. In his projects, he works with musicians who share a similar creative spirit and an open musical attitude.
Nikolai recently released his second album, with which he is currently touring internationally. At the concert, he will present music from the new album as well as compositions from recent years.
Together they create a dynamic and open soundscape where melodic narration, rhythmic energy and the improvisational freedom of contemporary jazz meet.
