Pouya Abdi Quartett

Pouya Abdi Quartett

With “Govinda and Kamala” the young Hamburg guitarist Pouya Abdi releases his first album – a profound musical journey between jazz, lyrics and intercultural influences. Inspired by Hermann Hesses Siddhartha, his Iranian origins and family imprint, the work combines intimate compositions with courageous improvisation.

The internationally composed quartet, consisting of high-calibre musicians with Georgian, Brazilian and Iranian roots, merges spontaneous interaction with colourful sound worlds. Supported by the influences of great composers such as Pat Metheny and Tom Jobim, the band dares to take risks – always with the certainty of standing up for each other musically.
