Das Bokani Dyer Trio ist ein Hochspannungskraftwerk des modernen Afro-Jazz, angeführt vom visionären Pianisten und Komponisten Bokani Dyer. Geboren aus Botswanas Seele und geschärft in Südafrikas Wettbewerbs-Jazz-Szene, spielt das Trio – Dyer am Klavier, mit der tödlichen Rhythmus-Sektion Timothy Norton (Bass) und Lumanyano Mzi (Schlagzeug) – nicht nur Musik: Sie jagen es. Ihr Klang ist ein Sturm aus schwingendem Post-Bop, hypnotischem Groove und roher, harmonischer Elektrizität. Live verwandeln sie sich von einem Trio in einen einzigen, atmenden Organismus – unvorhersehbar, aufregend und absolut unerbittlich. Wenn sie auf die Bühne kommen, hört man nicht nur Jazz.
