Take Note – Songwriter Sessions hosted by Marie Kanske
Take Note – The Songwriter Sessions is a monthly concert series at the Blue Note Dresden and offers singer-songwriters a stage for their own songs, new ideas and intimate live moments. Between folk, indie, Americana and acoustic songwriting, evenings with changing artists, personal stories and a direct atmosphere are created.
The sessions are moderated by Marie-Sophie Kanske (Sea of Love) and are aimed at experienced musicians as well as new voices from the scene. Entrance is free, donations go entirely to the performing artists.
Musicians who would like to perform can contact Marie with a short biography, 1-2 photos and links to audio/video material.
Daniel Benyamin
Daniel Benyamin is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. For more than two decades he has moved between indie, folk, wave and electronic music – always looking for new sound colors. He first became known as a solo artist, later with the duo SEA + AIR and the band Jumbo Jet. More than 2,000 concerts in 35 countries have shaped his musical path.
With his current solo project, Daniel Benyamin returns to his roots and combines organic instruments with analog synthesizers, melancholy songs with powerful rhythms and cinematic soundscapes. He describes this very own style as “ghost pop” – music that defies stylistic boundaries and focuses on one thing above all: strong songs with character.

Voluntary contribution
Most of our concerts have no fixed admission price. Instead, we suggest a voluntary contribution of around €10 per person.
Our principle: if you have less, give less. If you can give more and want to support live music, you are welcome to be generous. This helps keep culture accessible to as many people as possible.
We collect contributions during the break after the first set or after the concert.
