Marsico & Priehn

Marsico & Priehn – Blues in all seinen Facetten beim Opener des Blues Fest Dresden 2023

At this year’s Blues Fest Dresden 2023, the duo Marsico & Priehn opens with a powerful performance that celebrates the blues in all its facets. Sonja Priehn on singing and Alberto Marsico on the organ proudly present their latest CD "BELIEVE" and take the audience on a thrilling blues journey.

With a keen sense of the tradition of the blues, the duo draws on jazz standards from the Broadway songbooks as well as selected songs from the universe of rock and pop music. They revive the spirit of the blues and present rousing blues songs from legends such as T-Bone Walker and Willie Dixon. In doing so, they give each piece its own stamp and create a unique soundscape.

But Marsico & Priehn go one step further. They also have their own compositions in the repertoire, inspired by the soul of the gospel and the grounding of soul music. They even add excerpts from Italian operatic music to give the blues an unexpected turn and demonstrate their musical versatility.

The intense and passionate dynamics created by the intuitive interaction of Sonja Priehn and Alberto Marsico leave no listener untouched. Sonja Priehn’s raw and soulful voice blends perfectly with Alberto Marsico’s virtuosic organ playing and creates an atmosphere that makes the blues tangible in its purest form.

With its appearance as an opener of the Blues Fest Dresden 2023, the duo Marsico & Priehn promises a thrilling performance that takes the audience on an emotional journey through the blues. Immerse yourself in the world of blues and experience the fascination of this timeless music. Be ready to feel the blues in all its facets and enjoy an evening full of intense sounds and passionate performances.
