Heated Land

Americana · Blues · Folk · Indie

Heated Land

Heated Land combines chamber music indie folk with Americana, blues and a pleasantly brittle melancholy. The focus is on the Augsburg songwriter Andreas Mayrock, whose deep voice and retracted guitar playing characterise the sound of the seven-piece band, which is distributed across Germany.

Acoustic guitars, bone-dry drums and harmonica meet double bass, harmonium, slide guitar and finely inserted strings. The arrangements usually remain slim and unobtrusive, but can always open up to more intense, almost epic moments. Musically, this is reminiscent of the darker sides of Americana and Alternative Country – somewhere between Townes Van Zandt, Bill Callahan, 16 Horsepower and Talk Talk.

Heated Land tell their songs with peace and space: melancholy, sometimes dark, sometimes dreamy and always close to the American folk and blues tradition. Music like a ride through heated, deserted land just before sunset.
